Sports Massage / Soft Tissue Therapy

“My body feels so good my massages are now a necessity not an indulgence!”

What is Soft Tissue Therapy?

Occupational issues such as postural dysfunction and associated pains can be caused by prolonged sitting at work or the repetitive nature of many everyday tasks. Participation in amateur or professional sporting activities can lead to strains and sprains, over-use injuries, postural dysfunction, stress and fatigue.

Soft Tissue Therapy (previously known as ‘Sport & Remedial Massage) is a safe, non-invasive therapy involving manipulation of the soft tissues to release tension, reduce pain, restore range of movement and promote optimum musculoskeletal function. It is suitable for anybody wishing to prevent or recover from a soft tissue injury.

Regular treatments are recommended to continually stimulate adaptation and positive change in the musculoskeletal system. If you are training for an event, regular massages can help ensure a healthy range of movement and enhanced performance in your chosen sport and reduce your chance of injury.

Treatments can include:
  • Postural and peripheral joint assessments
  • Deep tissue massage
  • Soft Tissue Release (STR)
  • Muscle Energy Technique (MET)
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Myofascial Release

Preventative treatment and rehabilitation advice will also be offered for all occupational, sport and general soft tissue injuries, returning you to functional fitness and mobility as soon as possible.
